Twisted Olive: Reviews & Ratings
Two for dinner. Easy reservation through Open Table. I had lamb shank over risotto and my wife had Thai salmon. Food was great. We also had some excellent cocktails. Our server was very good. If i must criticize, they offer bread which was subpar - they must concentrate on the food because that was great. Definitely worth a stop if in the area. We stopped there before seeing a play at Desales which is only 18 minutes away.
Group dinner for a birthday. Our server was very good. She was attentive and got our orders correct. Nice variety on the menu. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time especially for a busy Saturday night. My only complaint would be that they wouldn't do separate checks.
My partner and I stopped by Twisted Olive for a date night without a reservation and were still able to get a cozy outdoor table- exactly where we wanted to sit. The outdoor seating section we sat is on the sidewalk, which we personally love for the lively, open-air vibe (though it might not be everyone’s thing). I think there was another section that was more sectioned off/ clearly apart of the restaurant though. Service was excellent from start to finish. Even with outdoor seating, we never felt forgotten- our server checked in just the right amount, was friendly, and gave us great recommendations for both food and cocktails. I ordered the sirloin cooked on the stone, which was such a fun and unique experience- our server even walked me through how to cook it properly at the table. My partner had the pork belly salad, which was incredibly creative and full of flavor. Both dishes plus our appetizer were delicious and the cocktails were out of this world. We also loved hearing a bit about the restaurant’s background.. apparently the owner has a garden that provides some of the vegetables for the menu (don’t quote me, but it was a cool detail!). Everything about the experience the food, drinks, service, and atmosphere was wonderful. No notes. We’ll definitely be back to try more menu items soon!
I enjoyed dining here, but most of all I appreciate a restaurant that stands behind their service. I ordered a ribeye med rare. It came well done. They immediately replaced it, and it was delicious. Mistakes happen. When the bill came, they took the charge off. I argued, saying that's silly; I ate a perfectly good steak. The manager refused to reinstate the charge. That's $70 they lost on 2 steaks. I so thoroughly appreciate their customer service The meals (also had the lobster ravioli) were delicious, by the way, as were the cocktails. Highly recommend, as they stand by their service and food. We will def be back. This will be our new go-to place when in town.
Nicely decorated with a relaxed vibe. The staff dresses very diversely from leggings to short skirts, and boho vibes. The food is excellent. The menu choices are diverse and not overwhelming. A well stocked bar, and large drink menu including mocktails. Kids menu available. Handicap ramp, but no automatic for. outdoor seating available, but limited to about 6 tables that seat 4 each. We had the braised ravioli small plate, Caesar salad with anchovies added, and the braised lamb shank. Most things are priced well as we spent $110 for 4 people.
The atmosphere was pleasant. It was a busy night but our waitress was attentive and sweet. The drinks were good but not outstanding for the price. The tapas menu was unique and we got the twisted olives which were very good! Never had anything like it. The ribeyes were cooked well but very grisly and I left a lot on my plate. I would definitely go back for the Tapas menu and atmosphere. Next time, I may sit at the bar instead.
Twisted Olive is definitely one of my favorite restaurants. They have a great bar and restaurant area that is open yet quiet. The artwork is amazing and the lighting is perfect. It's great for dates because this is where my girlfriend and I had our first dinner together in 2021. Veronica, our incredible server, took care of us. She fielded any questions with ease and her recommendations were exceptional. My girlfriend loved her cosmopolitan and my martini with blue cheese stuffed olives was phenomenal. The artichoke and spinach dip was both plentiful and flavorful. The tuna tartare was a bit dry yet delicious. But that grilled octopus was on a completely different level of flavor and texture. Truly fantastic. Whether you're here for lunch or dinner, the menu is incredible. Many thanks again to Veronica for her kindness and for her professionalism!
Cool spot in downtown. I like the underground type feel but had it's ups and downs. Service was amazing. Stopped by for a very late lunch so it wasn't busy at the time. Had the skirt steak and asked for it medium. The steak was a decent size (one side thicker) but half of it was mid rear and the other mid well. No big deal it had great flavor. The plantain fried rice was a no go with me and didn't care for the veggies. I would have preferred chimichurri and a seasoned rice or fries instead. The lamb shank was falling off the bone but again side dishes were lackluster. The short rib ravioli was amazing though. This would be a small plate and drinks spot for me. Dinner options aren't worth it in my opinion.
